Kapitol Dome newsletter                    August 2015

Please join us!

Dear Members,

The IMA NCC chapter official meeting, Wednesday July 15, 2015, was attended by nearly 20 participants including one student.  The networking and dinner were followed by a CPE presentation on the Statement of Cash Flows, the direct method, led by Professor Leon Hutton.  His comments were well received as change is coming to financial statements and expectations!  We serve as leaders for our stakeholders and seek to assist others.  Thank you, everyone for joining us!

The slate of board members and officers for the 2015/2016 program year were presented and the official election by the members resulted in the new list of officers, appearing at the end of this newsletter. Please, attend our meetings.  Our goal is to add value for each member.  Your comments are always most welcomed and encouraged!

Our chapter benefits from the participation of each member!  What you do matters!  Say good things about the value of the IMA network, with our online CPE events, local sessions, and networking events.  A big thank you to William Maxwell for his leadership of our Government Contractor Breakfasts!  This efficient, morning event adjourns promptly by 9:30 a.m. and occurs on a Tuesday at the Tower Club, 8000 Towers Crescent Drive, Suite 1700, Tysons, VA 22182.  Parking is at no cost with our validation!  Explore the venue at http://www.clubcorp.com/Clubs/The-Tower-Club-Tysons-Corner.

We continue to encourage guests and students to attend our events!  CPE is awarded!

Visit the Strategic Finance website!  http://sfmagazine.com/  IMA, as a leader in business, finance, accounting and strategy, features a key article on Asset Capitalization Threshold (ACT).  Charts and graphs, summary bullet points, reveal the range of capitalization thresholds across various entities, public and private, large, and small.  http://sfmagazine.com/post-entry/asset-capitalization-thresholds-is-diversity-a-good-thing/

How are we communicating the goals and objectives of our annual audit and related activities?  Are we positioned to benefit from their services and reach the ‘ready to go’ status promptly and efficiently?  Change is constant.  Read an update on the audit from the client point of view at http://sfmagazine.com/post-entry/working-with-auditors-tips-and-traps/

Share the value of IMA and membership with others!  Plan to join us on August 19 as well as future dates including September 16 and October 21.  Watch our web site for updates and announcements!  http://imanationscapital.org/

Thank you for your membership in our IMA NCC Chapter and all you do for our profession!

Appreciatively,

Kathleen
